Confidence boost and five point composite increase
Our daughter went from a 27 ACT score to a 32 ACT score in 5 weeks of prep from A+ Academics. They helped her with not only the knowledge to do better but the confidence that she could do better. Best decision we made was coming here for help. Thank you for all you do.

Surpassed Goals = No longer a Skeptical Parent
Our son set a goal for his ACT test score. He was unable to achieve that goal on his own. After working with Mrs. Goldsmith for one summer, he not only achieved but surpassed his goal!! I was skeptical when he started at A+ Academic Services. However, I quickly learned that it was money and time well spent. He never complained about going to the tutoring and I think he actually enjoyed it. Mrs. Goldsmith was able to direct and guide him so that he spent his time focusing on the areas that would really help his score.

not Only Academic progress...encouragement as well!
My daughter has progressed in her Academics while receiving not only tutoring, but encouragement, from Mr. Joe and Mrs. Sonja. The atmosphere they create is just right for my fun loving girl. (She has tutored elsewhere and though the previous business was helpful and very professional — it just didn’t motivate her in the same way.) Thankful we got the recommendation from a previous teacher whose son had also found A+ to be a great fit as well.

Failing to above grade level
We started our journey the summer of 2016. Our son failed kindergarten. He had his kindergarten graduation on Monday, then he started at A Plus. It was intense that summer. He went 3 days a week 2 hours a day. Mr. Joe took my child from failing to just above first grade level. The whole year of first grade we went twice a week 1 hour per day. We made it to second grade, he started with 2 days a week and went to one. He worked hard to get to one day a week in the 2nd semester of his second grade year. We are now at the end of his second grade year and he was tested by the Star reading program he is on a fourth grade equivalent, ranks in the 79 percentile. He also made the A/B honor roll the whole year. I have no doubts that if he didn't have help from Mr. Joe and Mrs Sonja he would still be floundering at school. You can get my contact information from Sonja if you have questions.

Oh, so Vocabulary Really is important...
I had the pleasure of attending ACT tutoring here with Mrs. Sonja and one of the vocabulary words I learned was on the test!! I know I got at least one question right 😉

Three Point gain: move into next scholarship barcket in now A reality
Parent Testimonial:
We are very pleased with the of our daughter's tutoring that she received from Mrs. Goldsmith. Elizabeth's ACT score upon entering the program was 28. We were looking for a tutor that could be very prescriptive in helping Elizabeth improve her score. Mrs. Goldsmith was able to teach her what she needed to focus on to make the greatest gains. Elizabeth scored a 31 on the next ACT exam and moved up into the next scholarship bracket. I highly recommend Mrs. Goldsmith as a tutor.

RN Student...math 98 tested into math 112
Really grateful for this business. Helped me work on math for the Accu placer test at Wallace community college, I really suck at math and with help from Sonja I was able to pass high enough to where they recommended precalculus (keep in mind I've been out of high school for 10yrs) I'm going back to school for my RN (currently a LPN)and the math I needed was the math 100 but because I did so great I can take math 112 (which is need when I go back to get my bachelors). Before I would score low (math98) and would need multiple classes. This company is great at meeting your needs and working with you on your weak points. They also tutor kids of all ages. I would highly recommend them!

Pleased Parent...will be sending second child for act prep
Sonja Goldsmith came highly recommended to me as a possible ACT tutor for my daughter, Cameron. She was highly recommended for a reason- she definitely knows what she’s doing. Enrolling Cameron into Sonja’s program boosted her ACT score 5 points. My younger son will be beginning his ACT tutoring at A Plus shortly, and I am sure Sonja will be just as valuable in my son’s ACT test taking journey as my daughter’s. She does phenomenal work.

One student's story
Mrs. Sonja was vital in my success on the ACT test. She assessed my strengths and weaknesses academically and helped me maximize my test taking potential. Through hours of practice ranging from specific skill exercises to practice ACT tests, she helped condition me for the test that would determine my scholarship money. With much time, attention, and encouraging words, Mrs. Sonja strategically taught me how to effectively take the ACT. I entered her program with a composite score of 24, and I left with a composite score of a 29 and a Math/English score of 30. I could not recommend her services more highly. If you, or your student, invest into her program mentally, and follow her prescribed method, you will not be disappointed!

Perfect Science score & More scholarship opportunities
"Ms. Sonja has been working with my son over the past few months to help him increase his ACT composite score. She has not only helped him with test taking skills, but she has taught him material that he may not have been taught yet. His composite score has increased 4 points so far and his Science actually increased 10 points to a perfect score of 36! We have been very pleased with the services! The upfront cost is worth it, when your child reaches more scholarship opportunities."

Additional Merit Scholarship Dollars...offers from multiple colleges
I highly recommended Mrs. Goldsmith for tutoring services. My son Nick, a high school senior, was blessed to be tutored by her this past January. He had taken the ACT numerous times prior to seeking her services, and was at a standstill with his overall composite score. After working with Mrs. Goldsmith for just one month, he increased his composite score by 3 points. The increase helped him quality for additional merit scholarship dollars from multiple colleges.

Auburn bound with 3 point increase
Some of my friends had been to A+ and recommended it to me to get my ACT score up. I started going in August for two hours twice a week. Mrs. Sonja focused on my weaknesses and gave me practice sections to do. I took the ACT in September and my score ended up going up 3 points to 30! I was recently accepted to Auburn in early admissions. I also am receiving a scholarship thanks to the help I got from Mrs. Sonja.
Thanks Mrs. Sonja!

Thrilled and seeking even more points
We have been thrilled with the results our daughter has received after just two months of tutoring with Sonja Goldsmith at A+ Academic Services! She is a high school junior. She took the ACT in December and again in February. She tutored with Sonja the two months in between. She was able to raise both her math and English scores by four points and her science by five points. She will definitely be back for further tutoring over the summer! She has enjoyed tutoring with Ms. Sonja and feels like she is getting the most out of the one on one tutoring she is receiving. She also enjoys the laid back and stress free environment of A+ Academic Services.
Thank you!

Academic Scholarship
After taking the ACT three times, my son needed one more point for an academic scholarship. After researching several options, we decided to use one-on-one tutoring at A+ Academic Services. After an evaluation, Sonja determined that my son could use some help in English and we made the decision to tutor for 20 hours just before the ACT. His English score rose by 5 points and his composite score rose 2 points. He had previously tried taking practice tests, but wasn’t really learning the underlying English principles that he needed. Sonja was able to determine his exact needs and make the most of the tutoring time. We were so pleased with the experience and results, that we have decided to continue tutoring in Math and hope to gain 2 more points!

Failing to Passing!!!!!
I would like to say what a great job Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Joe at A+ Academic Services has done with our son. Nathan was an 11th grader that was embarrassed to have to go to a tutor. Nathan had failed the first two nine weeks of Algebra II with Trig.
Nathan started in Jan of 2015, after they tested him in December so they would know where they need to start with him. They had to start at the beginning with Algebra and work forward. The next nine weeks he had pulled his grade up to a B and the last nine weeks was a B, finished the year with a C Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Joe worked with him twice a week for two hours at a time. Nathan had gave up and just knew he would never pass. Sonja gave him praise on his work and went back over what he got wrong. When a test was coming up she made sure that they covered everything on the study guide. Nathan got back his confidence that he could do the work. This is all thanks to Mrs. Sonja and Mr. Joe, and for that well will always be so very thankful. They are still working with Nathan through the summer so that we can make sure he is completely caught up an on the level he should be for an 11th grader.
I would recommend A+ Academic Services to anyone that needs the help or just wants to make sure their child is at the level they need to be. As a parent that could not do the math that the children do now in school, A+ Academic Service was a blessing to us, and Nathan. Thank you for everything.

NINE p0int increase in English portion of act!
After taking the ACT test a couple times resulting in similar scores that were not improving, we knew that we were going to have to find something else to help our Houston Academy student. After checking into A+ Academics and having discussions with Sonja Goldsmith about our goals for ACT scores, we decided to use A+ specifically for English ACT prep. Sonja worked with our student a couple of times a week for a few weeks just ahead of the next ACT test date. The result was that her English score improved 9 points on that ACT. The knowledge she received from Sonja was instrumental in that 9-point improvement. The improvement in her overall ACT score ended up resulting in an academic scholarship for college. Thank you for your assistance, Sonja, and for your professionalism.

ACT Score improves three points!
I want to thank you for all your help tutoring Joshiah Mays. I came to you because my son had a difficult time improving his ACT scores. I am delighted to inform you that your tutoring and assistance helping my son with his English, Math, Science, and Reading has been fruitful. Josiah's overall composite score on his ACT has increased 3 points. This improvement in his ACT score will insure that my son graduate from Emmanuel Christian School next year and start his college path at Pensacola Christian University. Thanks so much for your dedication to help my son.

Graduation Exam Success!
A+ Academic Services is one of the best academic programs around. My child was having problems with passing the history portion of the graduation exam. She had taken the history portion three times and was feeling defeated. A friend recommended that we take her to A+ Academic Services. They (the friend) stated that they ( A+ Academic Services) were good at getting positive results. After looking into their success rates, we then made the decision to give them a try. Mrs. Sonja Goldsmith, Education Director, was polite, encouraging, motivating, yet firm while working with my daughter. She had her write history facts on note cards and drilled her daily to ensure that she was retaining what she was taught. My daughter went to retake the history portion of the graduation exam for the fourth and final time. She went to take the exam with more confidence than ever before and stated that she felt prepared after working with Mrs. Goldsmith. After taking the exam, she stated that she knew all of the material and could actually remember writing questions and answers on the note cards while studying with Mrs. Goldsmith. She was proud of herself. Once the scores came in for the exam, we were ecstatic and couldn't wait to share the good news with her family and A+ Academic Services. They are an awesome team of educators who strive to teach and help others accomplish their educational goals. Thank you so much A+ Academic Services!

Cheerleader Receives Academic Award!
I just wanted to take time to tell you THANKS so much for helping me better my learning skills. Thanks to all of our hours put in, I have now raised my MATH grade from a low "C" to a high "A"!!!
Not only have I raised my grades in math/algebra, but I have also maintained good grades in ALL my other classes as well. This year I was honored to receive the "Academic Award" out of ALL the varsity cheerleaders at Dale County High School! This was the FIRST time I have EVER received such an award, and I was very shocked when they called out my name in the school assembly. I don't think that this could have EVER been possible without the classes I took with you all. Thanks to all those wonderful teachers you have there! Y'all are the BEST! :-)

Senior & 2007 Homecoming Queen Passes Her Exit Exam...
Brina's firm dedication and 100% commitment to studying paid off! She passed the Alabama High School Exit Exam! Thank you kindly.
Debra/Mom
DIRECTOR'S NOTE: Brina is an EXCELLENT student in high school, and always makes A's and B's. However, like so many kids, the Alabama High School Exit Exam gave her "fits". Luckily, she had the wisdom to turn to A+ Academic to give her the needed "edge" to pass the ENGLISH portion of the test.
Why does the ENGLISH subsection/test cause so many problems? Well, it's mainly because kids are traditionally taught in school how to BUILD "good" and "correct" sentences, NOT how to find and edit INCORRECT ones! In other words, so much of their class time is spent on such things as "pick out the adjective/adverb/prepositional phrases in the following sentences".....but not on finding "problems" and correcting them. Lately, however, classroom instruction has been more responsive to this need, and is improving substantially....Brina-good luck in college, girl! You'll be a winner for sure!

DIBELS TEST???
Leslie Has Finally Caught Up To Her Grade Level "Benchmark"!
Leslie Lamb, my daughter, has been attending the A+ Center for a little over a year now, going to her classes twice a week for an hour each day. She was VERY weak in reading when we began this program. She started while she was in the 4th Grade, and is currently in the 5th Grade at Headland Intermediate School.
She has improved SO MUCH in the last year with her reading skills! Leslie has NEVER "benchmarked" with the DIBELS TEST at school---not even close! Well, the other day Leslie's teacher spoke to me while I was at the school and said she had to tell me something. She stated that she, along with Leslie's other teachers and the Principal had been in a meeting to discuss several "at-risk" students....Leslie was mentioned regarding how she was such a hard working student & how she was SO CLOSE to the required benchmark number for "words per minute", which is 115 WPM for her age/grade level. To offer some perspective, Leslie was only about 66 WPM when she entered the 4th Grade...and is NOW over 100 WPM!!!
In addition to her gains in overall reading speed, her comprehension is so much BETTER, as well as her understanding of vocabulary words!
Our family feels confidently that-between A+ and all their good teachers-that this experience has truly made a GREAT IMPACT on Leslie's life. Her goal now in Ms. Lee's class at school is to benchmark the DIBELS TEST for the FIRST TIME EVER! Oh, by the way, she also made the A & B Honor Roll for the FIRST TIME in all of her school years!
We are so proud of Leslie & her hard work, along with the determination of your dedicated teachers at A+ in Dothan...Enrolling her into your program was a GREAT decision...Thanks So Much!
